You AND Your Household
Are you praying for the salvation of your loved ones? This will encourage you. I learnt this insight from Lance Wallnau.
Peter writes in 2 Peter 2:5 :
And (God) spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Noah was the 8th person to enter the ark before God shut him in - why was he not the first?
Well, first, let’s be encouraged that God SEES our heart for the salvation of our loved ones, our faith in Him and our obedience to Him. He will honour His promise to save our household too. Amen.
Then the LORD said to Noah,"Come into the ark, You AND Your Household, because I have SEEN that YOU are righteous before me in this generation.” Genesis 7:1
Now read this portion of scripture:
On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark— they and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. And they went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the LORD shut HIM in.
Genesis 7:13-16
The Lord shut HIM in. The Lord shut the door only after Noah was in. As the 8th person, he could usher his household in while the gate was still open. Peter added that Noah was a preacher of righteousness, and so are we, clothed in righteousness of Christ. Hence, as we, have been endowed with the mind of Christ, we can also ‘preach' His righteousness in our families, thus ushering them into the Gate of Life before it is shut!
So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, You AND Your Household.” Acts 16:31
