Roll on Jehovah thy way...
When God first showed me Young's Literal Translation of Ps 37:5, I was awed:
ROLL on Jehovah thy way,
And trust upon Him, and He worketh...
You see, immediately, I remember my time on the hospital bed, after suffering a relapse of slipped disc, when I could only ROLL to the left and to the right, my hands holding onto the bed rails. I knew God was speaking to me to commit all my ways to Him and trust Him wholeheartedly. Being in my moments of weakness, I needed so much to hear that.
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
When God wants us to commit our ways to Him, He is showing His love to us. He wants us to trust Him,and taste and see that He is good and just. He knows it can be tough waiting for our vindication. But He promises He shall bring forth our righteousness as the light, and our justice as the noonday. When God wants us to commit our ways to Him, He wants us to rest and trust in Him and wait patiently for Him. It might seem that wickedness/unrighteousness prospers but God promises the wicked will be no more.
(see Psalms 37:6-7 )
Have you given your burdens, anxieties and concerns to Him? Have you committed ALL your ways to Him? He is the ROCK of our salvation, the ROCK that is higher than I.
“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
