Jesus Can Handle It!
1. Trust IN THE LORD
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Psalms 37:3
If God is good and just, why do evil man prosper? Faced with this dilemma, trust IN THE LORD. IN THE LORD. My trust must be in Him. Then I fret not. Then I have faith. How should I trust IN THE LORD? I feed on His faithfulness. I don’t get eaten up by resentment. I don’t feed thoughts of retaliation or vengeance otherwise I behave like those I despise. God will right the wrongs.
2. Delight IN THE LORD
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4 -6
As a result of the evil and oppression I face, have I lost my joy? Delight IN THE LORD. When I do that, His desires become my desires. My prayer focus changes. I pray His desires, His will, His ways. I begin to commit my ways to Him. To commit is to roll over.
When I was hospitalised as a result of my slipped disc, I couldn’t move except to roll to the left and to the right. So when I discovered the meaning of the word “commit” - to ROLL over - I was weeping uncontrollably. I recognized that I am to roll over my every concern and emotion to God. Everything. He will settle the scores. He will bring forth my righteousness and grant my vindication.
3. Rest IN THE LORD
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Psalms 37:7
Look at others, and be distressed.
Look at self, and be depressed.
Look at JESUS, and be at rest.
Take heart, my soul, JESUS can handle it. Bless the Lord, O my soul.
